Maureen graduated as a programmer and worked for The Toronto Star for 11 years. After taking 10 years off to raise 3 children, she returned part time to Metroland Media (Torstar) for another 19 years. Since taking an early retirement, she dedicates her time to animal welfare. She lives in Toronto and is the proud grandmother of six.
Edana Brown (Hon.)
Edana was an active Director from 2012 until early 2022. With many other commitments, she has decided to step back from her active role but stay on as an Honourary Director. Edana is our longest serving Director and we are grateful for her tremendous contribution to CCFA.
Vicki is a retired engineer who now devotes her time to volunteering with the deafblind and working on animal welfare issues. She lives in Toronto with her husband and two cats.
Anne works providing recreational activities in a seniors’ home. In her spare time, she goes skiing, hiking and cycling. She lives in Toronto with her husband and two cats.
Roni has worked in the labour movement, taught ESL and participated in program evaluations. Concern for the plight of mules and donkeys led to concern for the plight of all farm animals. Roni lives in Cambridge, Ontario with her husband and their adopted terrier Grif.
Geraldine holds a Master of Laws from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and B.Sc. and LL.B. degrees from the University of New Brunswick. After university, she took her first job in Toronto where she still resides. She applied biology and law degrees to her professional career and to volunteering. Recently retired, her enthusiasm for animal welfare also reflects her background in science, law and ethics. She hopes she will soon have another canine companion.
